Fishing Guide in Newburyport
Quincy Bay and the rocky coastline south of Boston give you some of the most consistent Striped Bass fishing in the region without running far from the dock.
Fishing Newburyport
Fishing out of Quincy puts you right on Quincy Bay and the exposed Atlantic coastline just minutes from the launch. The water here ranges from shallow rocky flats ideal for sight-fishing bass to deeper holes where bluefish school up in summer. This is a area where you can actually spend more time fishing and less time running compared to heading farther north or south. The Striped Bass migration hits hard here in late spring as fish move north, and the fall run brings bigger cow bass back through on their way to the Cape. Bluefish show up reliably starting in June and stay through August, often crashing the same structure that holds the bass. Tuna fishing requires running deeper water toward the offshore lumps, but the nearshore chunking for false albacore (which we don't target per your rules) can be productive - sticking to our target species, we focus on the bass and bluefish that are more accessible from Quincy. A half day trip from here covers good water without the long runs that eat into fishing time.
