Where We Fish

Fishing Guide in Westport

Revere Beach and the northern harbor give you direct access to productive Striped Bass grounds without the Boston Harbor traffic.

On the Water

Fishing Westport

Revere sits on the north side of the harbor and offers a different angle on fishing these waters. The beach runs east toward the open ocean, and the Saugus River empties right into the fishing zone, creating an estuary that bass love. This is where a lot of local anglers fish because you can launch easily and get on fish without dealing with the Boston Harbor crowd. The Striped Bass fishing here follows the same seasonal pattern as the rest of the bay - spring run in May and June, then the fall push in September and October. Bluefish show up in summer and can be thick, particularly when the bait gets pushed against the beach. The water is shallower than the Boston side, which actually makes it better for sight-fishing with fly gear or light tackle. Tuna aren't realistic from Revere since you'd need to run south and east into deeper water, but the nearshore action on our target species is solid.

Fishing Westport FAQ

When is the Striped Bass fishing best from Revere?
The spring run peaks in late May through June, and the fall run is strong from mid-September through October.
Is Revere Beach good for shore fishing?
You can catch fish from shore, but a charter gives you access to the better spots that are hard to reach on foot.
What tackle do you use from Revere?
We adjust based on conditions - typically light spinning gear or fly gear since the water is shallower and the fish are often feeding actively in the current.
